Hello, Sour Grunt Productions People. My name is Gunnergrunt. Some of you may know me from Xforgery...

I joined this site seeking a few answers to questions concerning machinima. I recently acquired a Pinnacle Capture Device for my Mac. I am currently making a video of my latest forge map, showcasing both structure and gameplay. In this video, I would like to include a few selections of music (one or two tracks). But first, I would like to understand the copyright rules involved in adding music to a video. I read all the guidelines on Youtube, but my understanding is still a bit fuzzy. I have seen countless machinimas and montages with music tracks as audio, and I would like to know how they met the copyright requirements. If someone could simply A my Q's, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello, Homer? Wtf, considering I like adding music to our vids, I would like a looksee at that as well.

Anyways, obviously you can use any music that YouTube provides for for you, which is okay. From what I know, pretty much any Indy Music is okay also. Music you've made yourself obviously is fine, and obviously if you get permission from an artist. A note encase you didnt know, any music that is produced by (i think) Warner Bros. Music is offlimits, which also includes their sub companies such as Roadrunner Records(only the american sub-companies though). Thats pretty much it I think.

Oh, awesome. Butcher Pete, right? Because that is the single (or double, since there's 2 parts) greatest song in history. Put it in the CGN recap if it doesn't make it into your skirmish.

and if it still doesnt make it in that, then put it in an awesome vid about us and put it on youtube. that should help get even more people on sgp. if that happens, then every game im in, ill advertise to people as well.
